I love your product. It has made our life so much easier.
However, I am having a problem that recurs every time I make a new invoice.
I go through, make the invoice. Click print. Then save. That new invoice prints fine.
I click on New Invoice again. Fill in all the info. When I click print, it tells me there is an error and kbilling has to close. I close it, open it again, click print on the invoice and it prints no problem.
I click New invoice again, fill it all in, click print and get the error again.
It seems that I can only print 1 invoice every time I run kbilling. I have to essentially restart it every time I want to print an invoice. This is very frustrating and takes up valuable time.
I am running Windows XP, and print on an HP PSC 950 all in one.
Please help.

Thanks David! That's an excellent report - I'll see if I can reproduce it here.
What version of kBilling are you using?

Yes, windows does try to send an error message to MS. Any word on why this might be happening on my computer?

Hi David, I can't say for certain as good old Microsoft never shares those bug reports with me, but I'm working on a bit of a debug build that will help us get to the bottom of things. I will try to get you a copy tomorrow. Drop an email to support@ksoftware.net so I can send it to you in a private email.
Thanks!
Hi mine closes every 4th or 5th invoice that I print & has been doing this since I asked for help in March 2005. At that time you couldn't reproduce it. I make an invoice & ask it to print, on the 4th or 5th time it says I did the illegal operation thing & it closes me down. If you fix this persons, can you fix me too? Thanks for your time.

Absolutely!
The trick is to reproduce it here so I can track down what is causing the problem.
Are you using the PDF invoice templates or the HTML ones?
I use PDF for the invoices

I use PDF for the invoices
I have the same problem too, crashes using PDF invoices but it will work with the non-PDF ones.

Hi Ryan, I think your problem has to do with Windows Vista more than anything else. Lori and the others were reporting the problem with XP.

Ok, you probably can guess what my next questions will be....
When will Kbilling be Vista compatable? Vista has been out in beta for a long time (for free), no testing has been done yet?

kBilling is Windows Vista compatible. Printing the PDF invoices is the only feature not available that doesn't work correctly with it. We're working on fixing that right now and a fix will be available as soon as possible! In the meantime the HTML templates should enable you to get invoices out of the system.
And yes, kBilling was tested on Windows Vista before it's (Vista's) release and this problem was not present then. Many, many things changed through Vista's evolution and all developers are still playing playing catch-up!
