DOn't know why but I can't type any Payment terms on the invoice anymore??? did you change it by any chance?
we don't use any of those terms except for Net-15, Net-30, and most of the time we type CREDIT CARD... is there anyway you can add it in the drop down menu?

Payment terms and payment type are totally different things.. Why would you put "Credit Card" in the payment terms?
And the ability to type in the payment terms was actually a bit of a bug. I suppose there was no harm in it so I can change it back if it's something you guys liked!

well the only thing about that is when I type in "CREDIT CARD" or others like "WIRE TRANSFER" the "NET-30" disappears on the next invoice we make...
If you make it a possible for each customer to have a default payment terms it would be great but just make sure we can add more things in there not just those listed.

I'll enable the editing of that drop-down list again..
Still, though, why are you using a payment type as a payment term? The payment term is meant to convey how much time is allowed to pay the invoice, not the type of payment received.

It's for our own record. just so off the bat we can know what type of payments they make.
We usually look for their account and we check their invoices for:
1. type of prices
2. payment type
from payment type we double check the updated card information.
an invoice tells us everything for their next order.
It's the fastest way we can find out what need when they call us. Mainly just checking their records usually they have a pattern and I can assure you I won't be able to remember all those having more than 1000 customers.

I understand.. Why not start adding that information into the customer notes section, though?
Just make it standard to put something like this in customer notes when you take an order or add a customer :
"Payment Type : Describe payment type
Price Type : Whatever goes here"
That way you don't have to sort through any invoices and you can go straight to the customer and see everything in one free-form text box.

Fair enough. I'll set that combo back to where you can edit it in .87.
