I would be nice Mitch if it was possible that when you add an item in an invoice that there would be a field that would automatically add the date the item was added, since there are customers or should I say I create invoices and add items as customers want them instead of creating various invoices , this way I could see what item was added and when it was added and also the customers aswell can see this

Also it would be nice to have the ability to have the program in a spanish language for international use

hope these features will be added with your next release

Just type a date string in the item description or name when you add the item. Would that work?

Perhaps one day :-)

Yes this can work , but it would be nice just as a feature that when you add an item within an invoice that right before the search box there would be a date added automatically.

Remember Mitch I'm using this product all the way from Honduras and things are a little different out here , so I'm trying to make it as easy as possible not just for my employees but for anyone who uses K-billing as I love and bought , use and look forward to upcoming releases with great new features.

If you're not talking about actually putting the date added on the invoice (which means a new column that would have to be one users could turn on and off), then that wouldn't be much of a problem. Do you mean to have the date shown *just* on the invoice item window?

Putting the date/time in the name or description carries it over to the printed versions of the invoice automatically..

I am running a small letter subscription service that come out 4 times a month on every Wed of the week. I wonder if there is an option to put a date on the invoice as well.

I tried to custom my template to show like

Month DATE PRICE TOTAL
Sept 12/05/07 $10.00 $10.00
Sept 12/12/07 $10.00 $10.00
Sept 12/19/07 $10.00 $10.00
Sept 12/26/07 $10.00 $10.00

Right now I am using K-Billing recurrent option, bill total $40 for each month. But most of my clients need the actual dates on the invoice. I don't know how to go and do it without having to make the invoice manually. Each time the recurrent invoices generated, I still have to go in and add the dates (xx/xx/xx) to the note of each invoice, which didn't seem to help much from the recurrent billing option.

I believe there are quite a bit people out there to have the same service as I do, if there is an optionto pick any date (Mon, Tues, Wed...) of the week and print out the date (xx/xx/xx), that would be a huge benifit for us and the software itself (more sales :))

Best regards,
CK

Each item on the invoice has a different date associated with it that changes per-week but the invoice itself is only generated once per month, right?

I can add macros into the invoice item name and description to expand text like <month> into the current month, etc, but if you're putting 4 items on one invoice that only recurs once per month I'm not sure how the software could know what item needed what date on it.

I'm open to adding a feature to support what you're doing but don't know how it would work. Do you have any suggestions about what I can add to kBilling to make it work for you?

Yes, the invoices generate using the term drop-down already had in K-Billing recurrent options (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly....)

I'm not sure it would help, but below are several link to talk about the date algorithm that might help you to start. At my level, it does not seem to help at all! :)

I can see how this would be useful, as I have a few long-running clients that I just keep adding portions to. Such as when they pay, they have a record of the date that they pay, however it would also be good if we have an 'option', not a requirement to include a date that the product or service was added. I can't see this as a fixture for all invoices, as it just would be too confusing and junk up the template, but I think that if we would be able to select if we wanted an 'added on date' to appear, it would show up when we added it to the invoice.

Hi ! I do input date quite often too,and IMHO, an additional button or shortcut key to an input a date string to the item description part should solve most ppl needs. Hope that helps!

A shortcut to add a date would be possible but what would it be and what would it output - just the current date?

I think this would also coincide with one other post that I made about an 'ongoing invoice' tab, where you can add items to an invoice over time, but it isn't an 'active' or 'pending' invoice until a certain mouseclick where it would then move to the invoice tab.

By adding the field for the 'added date' you could essentially use this information to make your ongoing invoice include a bunch of products and then when ready it will go to the invoice tab, and the client will be able to then take a look as to when the products or services were added.

It sounds like your 'ongoing invoice' is just like the quote system that will be implemented. Quotes are basically non-pending invoices that you'll be able to use a "Make Invoice" button to make the quote and all items on it 'live'.

Adding the current date by a shortcut would be enough for me.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a shortcut to add a date", now I have to make an recurent (montly) invoice, and when it generated, I had to add manually the dates like my first msg above in, I have about 50 invoices (customer) for each month to edit, pretty painful! ;9:mad:

I too, need to add the date each individual item was added/created, and to have it reflected in it's own column on the invoice template.
