Hello,

I am looking into your software, so far it seems impressive. I do have a couple of questions about your software before I consider a purchase.

My parents own a garbage (waste hauling) service and they have decided it's time to computerize the business.

Billing is handled every other month for about 1500+ customers. Some take service 1 day a week, others take service 2 days a week, some are commercial customers.

What I need to know about your package, is it possible to tell it to go out and do billing for all customers who are 1 day a week, then for 2 days a week, so on and so forth.

The guy at the software store conned my mom into purchasing Peachtree and assured her that it would handle everything she needed. Well, Peachcrap won't do bi-monthly billing, the only way to do the billing for recurring invoices is to go in and create an invoice for each customer, which means we would have to create 1500+ individual invoices which would take days. Their customer service is horrible and I cannot complain enough about their phone tech support!

If we can get these billing issues handled with your software, we will definetly be purchasing.

Also, if we export the customer database from Peachcrap, will it import into Kbilling. We had already entered all 1500+ customers into the software when we found out it wouldn't work.

Any help or information you could provide will be very much appreciated!

When you add a recurring invoice you add it just like any other bill, with a payment term, items, taxes, etc. You'll also set a "next invoice date" and a billing cycle (like Monthly, Weekly, etc, which is translated into days) which makes it turn into a recurring invoice (after that it is nothing more than a template to be used in the future). The Next Invoice Date field tells kBilling when you want the next (or first) bill to be generated.

Any time you hit the Recurring Invoices tab it displays a list of all bills ready to be sent out. When you click the "Generate Recurring Invoices" button kBilling copies the line items, dates and other information from the recurring template you set up and makes a new Pending invoice (Pending is a status that indicates it's pending payment). You can automatically print or email invoices right from the Recurring Invoices tab as you create them or later from the Invoices tab.

That does mean adding one (or more) for each customer, along with their customer information. Do you have any of that information in any sort of electronic format like an Excel spreadsheet?

Also, if we export the customer database from Peachcrap, will it import into Kbilling. We had already entered all 1500+ customers into the software when we found out it wouldn't work. Not directly, no. But it's likely we can get whatever export format PeachTree gives you moved into the kBilling import format.
