customer number question

I use K-Billing for our rental & mini storage properties and I like to use the bin number or lot address as the customer number. When someone moves out I mark them as inactive or terminated. When I re-rent that unit and try to put the address or bin number in it won't let me use the same number. Is there a way around this?

Go back and change the old customer's number to something like <customer Number>-TERM to free up the customer number for reuse.

The customer number has to be unique as it is an identifier through the software that ties togethe customers, invoices and payments.
