Hi! I would like to request the option to select Email Settings per customer.

I am running 2 businesses out of the same company file and I want some customers to receive emails from one address and some others to receive emails from another address. Right now, it is very hard to achieve as the email settings are in Global Settings.

Is this possible?

Thank you

Yes, the email settings are global. If you're doing billing for different companies the best way to do it is to use two different company files.

Hi

I would like email settings per customer or rather comments to be placed in an email where certain customers are in arrears and need to be notified of non payment or whatever comments need to go to those clients as long as they are in arrears.

So it would be global in a way but only relevant to clients with certain criteria.

I do not want to send it to all clients.

Also when a bulk email is sent out it would be nice not to abort if the 50th customer does not have an email address but rather to create a report which is brought up after the process is completed. I do understand that these can be unticked but it is a bit of a bother and a bit of work when the clients are in the hundreds on the base.

Kind Regards
Noel

Hi Noel -- where are you doing a batch email that gets aborted if a customer or invoice doesn't have an email address attached?

Hi

This happens from the customer view when I need to send a statement to the customers(Email checked statements)

Hi Vincent

If I have an invalid address and when I check that customer record and run batch for checked email statements from the customer view.

I get the following error 161:smtp protocol error receipient error. domain not found.... if i click ok there then the message disappears but the kbilling application seems to be frozen. it seems to be dumping in the background. if
i do not press ther ok then after a few minutes of waiting the message box disappears and then the proper error appears and i can go back into the application.

kind regards
noel

OK, that is an error message back from the mail server itself. Does it tell you which email is failing? If your mail server is returning a "domain not found" error then the domain part of the email is invalid (or has expired), so you should remove it from the customer record.

kBilling stops when it gets an error from the mail server because generally 1 mail server error means that all of the emails will error out (and you'd be stuck clicking OK to a ton of error boxes). We need to find and fix the invalid email that is saved in there. Email me off the forum and I'll help you look for it (I don't want you to post any email addresses here).
